Alain Blanchard
Photography is not actually my day job, but it takes an ever growing part of my spare time. My work presented on this site is purely personal and driven by my passion towards photography and street photography in particular.
Summary
Currently I am working as a graphic and web designer at eev | aae, the leading marketing organization for the swiss electrical industry. I have also studied social media at SAWI in Lausanne and got a diploma as a social media specialist.
I live in Fribourg, right on the border of the german and french speaking part of Switzerland. So I communicate both in german and french as well as in english and some indonesian.
How I got here
After my studies in typography at SFGBB in Bern, I rapidly focused on graphic design. In the late nineties I was given the opportunity to create the internet department within an advertising agency. So, I naturally began designing and programming websites.
Photography has always been a part of the whole design package for me. So it has sidelined my work since the beginning. In all those years I had the opportunity to learn from collaborations with gifted professional photographers as well as developing my own skills and style by practicing myself.
Other interests
For several years I played guitar and sung in various local rock bands. I still have a strong connection to music. I also practice meditation and particularly appreciate traveling to discover more about other cultures.
